SAN PAOLO – If 2020 was marked by the advancement of technology, accelerated by social detachment, the concern with cybersecurity has also grown. According to a survey of Kasperski, last year recorded an increase of 350% in this type of attack in the first quarter, putting Brazil at the top of the most affected countries in the world. Investment in security and technology is the main concern of banks and the financial system as a whole. The Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban – Federação Brasileira de Bancos) stated that investments made by the banking sector in technology are in the order of R$ 25 billion annually, with R$2 billion in cyber security. Heloísa Duarte, CEO of TechNetium, a company focused on expanding financial service through technology, explains that security is essential to provide accessibility to people and maintain the sustainability of the entire ecosystem. “Technology and Security all the time, this is the biggest investment in our operations. If you find any obstacles when accessing your app, it starts to feel a rejection of that product or operation. So we invest a lot in accessibility and security ”, she comments. The modernization of the financial sector in recent years, with the entry of fintechs and digital banks, has been consolidated by important regulatory and infrastructure changes, such as the regulation of credit fintechs and the regulatory sandbox. “The regulation brings transparency and rules that have to be put in place since ground zero. It has a lot to do, because user safety is primordial. But it has to be an evolution, it has to happen continuously”, explains Heloísa.
