According to Petrobras, the price of gasoline at refineries goes from R $ 2.18 to R $ 2.25, an increase of 8.02%, equivalent to 17 cents. In diesel, the increase will be 6.2%, which adds up to 13 cents. Cooking gas increased by 5.1%, which means an increase of 14 cents. The fuel sold at refineries is different from that sold to the final consumer, as explained in the statement. “Gasoline and diesel sold to distributors are different from products at the gas station. According to the state company, this increase does not necessarily have to be transferred to the public in full. According to the note published on the company’s website, this price increase at refineries may or may not increase the final price, as other taxes and compensations are made until the final product reaches the consumer. “As Brazilian law guarantees price freedom in the fuel and oil products market, the revisions made by Petrobras may or may not be reflected in the final price, which includes taxes and transfers from other agents in the commercialization sector: distributors, resellers and producers of biofuels , among others”. This discourse is also being adopted by the federal government in relation to fuel prices.
